Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AmberLetters website and document organizer service ("Service") operated by AmberLetters ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What AmberLetters Is
AmberLetters is a personal document organizer that helps you collect, organize, and export information about your personal affairs - including financial accounts, property, wishes, and farewell letters - for the benefit of your family, loved ones, and advisors.
AmberLetters is not a legal service. We do not provide legal advice, prepare legal documents, or create wills, trusts, powers of attorney, or any other legally binding instrument. Nothing in the Service constitutes legal advice or creates an attorney-client relationship. See our Legal Disclaimer for more detail.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use AmberLetters. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Notify us immediately at hello@amberletters.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Not share your account with others or allow others to access your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Payment and Access
Access to the full AmberLetters service requires a one-time payment. We offer three tiers:
- Essential - core chapters and PDF export.
- Complete - all chapters, photo uploads, and both PDF styles.
- Heirloom - everything in Complete, with priority support.
All prices are listed in US dollars. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.
Pay once — no subscription
Your payment grants you access to the tier you purchased for as long as AmberLetters remains in service — with no recurring fees, no annual renewals, and no hidden charges. If we ever discontinue the service, we will provide at least 90 days' advance notice by email so you can download your PDF (see Section 8). Because your PDF is downloaded directly to your device, your document is yours to keep regardless of any future changes to the service.
Refund policy
Because AmberLetters is a digital service and access is granted immediately upon payment, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds. If you experience a technical problem that prevents you from accessing the service, please contact us at hello@amberletters.com and we will work to resolve it promptly.
Gift codes
Gift codes are non-refundable once purchased. A gift code entitles one recipient to access the specified tier. Gift codes do not expire.
5. Your Content
The personal information you enter into AmberLetters ("Your Content") belongs to you. By entering it, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you - specifically, to display your content back to you and to generate your PDF document.
We do not claim ownership of Your Content. We do not read, analyze, sell, or share Your Content with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the accuracy of Your Content. We make no warranties that Your Content, when incorporated into a PDF or other output, will satisfy any legal requirement in any jurisdiction.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
- Upload malicious files, spam, or content that violates any third party's rights.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service.
- Use the Service on behalf of another person without their consent.
7. Intellectual Property
The AmberLetters website, software, design, text, and all content we create (excluding Your Content) are owned by AmberLetters and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our written permission.
8. Availability and Changes
We strive to keep AmberLetters available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide at least 90 days' notice by email so you can export your data.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes by email.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that any defects will be corrected.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AmberLetters shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for your account.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Bernalillo County, New Mexico.
